New Interim Uniform
I am delighted to welcome you to the web at Kings Norton High School. This is an exciting and fast-improving 11-16 mixed comprehensive school with a small, family feel, serving the southern most area of Birmingham. Over the last four years we have met many challenges: inspections have judged us in 2007 as needing to improve; then in 2008 as ‘satisfactory’ with mostly good features;and finally in January this year we achieved the judgement of ‘good’ with ‘outstanding care, guidance and support’. This has been a fair reflection of our 20% rise in 5A* - C GCSE grades, including English and maths, over the last two years, and the fact that we have exceeded the national average for 5A*- C GCSEs for the last three years. Other achievement highlights include: behaviour – graded ‘good’in all inspections from May 2007 to the present
attendance raised from 86% in 2005 to 94% currently, resulting in letters of congratulation from the local authority
Leading Aspect Award for our self-review toolkit and its impact on teaching and learning
We believe that all children can achieve and it is our job to discover their talents and help to realise them. We expect outstanding standards of behaviour and in return strive to offer outstanding learning experiences. We can’t do that without the help of parents and carers but together we can give our children the futures they deserve. We believe that all it takes is for us all to ‘work hard and be nice to each other’. It is an exciting time to be part of the school’s development within the community.
The road to ‘outstanding’ does not start here. We are already on it.
